Dorchester School District Two will open its seventh middle school in the Beech Hill area in August 2022. The school is located in one of the fastest growing areas of the district, and will alleviate overcrowding in several of the district’s middle schools.
The new school will serve students in 6 through 8 grades.
The school is located on a shared campus with Beech Hill Elementary School on property already owned by the school district.
The building program capacity is approximately 1,000 students.
The one-story facility is 119,830 square feet.
Construction on the school began in early 2021 and the completion date is August 2022.
The facility construction cost is $31 million and is being funded by impact fees and through bonds issued against the district’s 8% assessed property value.
The architectural firm is SGA/NarmourWright Design.

Attendance areas for the new school will be determined during the 2021-2022 school year to ensure the most current student enrollment numbers are used in the process. Community meetings will be held next year to present proposals and receive input.
