Dorothy Franklin
Hello! My name is Dorothy Williams-Franklin, and I am one of the school counselors here at Flowertown Elementary. I grew up in Summerville, South Carolina and attended schools within DD2. I love my small yet growing town where sweet tea was born.
I received my B.F.A in Film & Television at Savannah College of Art and Design and worked at WCSC before going on to Liberty University, where I received my Master of Education in School Counseling.
As a counselor, I desire to have a positive impact on your child's growth throughout the school year. I want children to be excited about coming to school, engaged purposefully in their learning, and aware of their potential.
I absolutely love this part of my job as it gives me a valid excuse to immerse myself in tons of resources including my favorite which is play therapy. I have a passion for arts and crafts and I am particularly interested in using this creative medium to encourage children to express themselves, to build confidence and to understand the ever-changing world around them.
Away from school, I love relaxing at home with my husband and daughter. We attend Grace on the Ashley on Sunday's and truly love our church family. I will always choose dessert over dinner, and Gamecocks over Clemson.
I am stoked about this year, and expect great things.
Flowertown is a happy place to be, and I am extremely proud to be part of this amazing hard working hive.
