Superintendent Joe Pye will be presenting an update on plans for the 2020-2021 school year on behalf of the Opening of Schools Task Force at the school board meeting on Monday, July 13th as a part of his State of the District address.
This will entail the recommendations from the Task Force’s six subcommittees and will include information about Dorchester School District Two’s in-school instruction based on SC DHEC’s published risk level of disease spread and the launching of DD2’s own Virtual Academy for students who do not feel they can return to the school buildings.
The Board meeting will be livestreamed at 6:00PM via the District website at https://www.ddtwo.org/live and the recording will be posted on that link at the meeting’s conclusion.
New and updated information will be communicated to all stakeholders via the District and School websites, District social media, and the District’s automated phone/email system.
District and School Administrators will continue to meet throughout the week to refine and consolidate a final proposal for School Board consideration and adoption no later than Monday, July 20, including possible calendar changes.
