Media Specialist
I am excited to serve the students, faculty, staff, and families at SHES as the Media Specialist! I am a lowcountry native and am proud of my southern roots. I live in Summerville with my husband and two boys. In my free time, I enjoy interior design, gardening, and furniture restoration.
This year marks my 22nd year as an educator and 18th year in Dorchester District Two. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade and served as the Instructional Technology Specialist before becoming a Media Specialist. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from The College of Charleston, a Masters of Science Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology from Nova Southeastern University and am currently enrolled in the Masters of Library Information Science program at The University of South Carolina. Additional accomplishments include National Board Certification, Gifted Endorsement, Online Teaching Certification, and Read to Succeed Endorsement.
Our Media Center is a special part of our school as it empowers students to be critical thinkers, passionate readers, adept researchers, and principled users of information while helping to create a lifelong love of literacy.
