Mr. Rodgers joined Dorchester School District Two in 2012, as an assistant principal at River Oaks Middle School. Prior to joining Team Dorchester, Mr. Rodgers served 5 years as a school administrator within the Colleton County School District. His career began in 1998 at Gray Court-Owings School, in Laurens School District 55, where he taught 5th-8th grade, as well as, 3rd-5th grade (gifted & talented) for nine years.
Mr. Rodgers grew up in Ninety Six, S.C., and graduated from Ninety Six High School in 1994. He received his undergraduate degree from Lander University in Elementary Education. Mr. Rodgers earned his master’s degree in Education: Concentration in School Leadership from Furman University in 2007.
Mr. Rodgers views developing a school culture that is flexible, collaborative, innovative and supportive of efforts to improvement the achievement of all students as vital. He believes establishing positive relationships and partnerships with parents, students, colleagues, and community members are essential to enriching the experience at Oakbrook Middle School.
During his free time, Mr. Rodgers enjoys spending time with family and friends, umpiring youth baseball and softball, and traveling (especially to Walt Disney World). Mr. Rodgers has been married to his wife, Heather, for 19 years and they have two sons, Connor and Chase.
Mr. Rodgers is excited about joining the Oakbrook team and looks forward to working with all stakeholders to make OMS even better than it already is.
