School Spotlight: Newington Elementary Dolphins

On April 21st, Newington Elementary students took a global journey without ever leaving campus!

As part of their "Around the World" event, students began their day exploring the United States before grabbing their passports and traveling through the halls to visit stations representing over a dozen countries and cultures. Each stop offered mini-lessons filled with music, dance, storytelling, art, food, festivals, and history — creating an immersive and hands-on cultural experience.

Many of the highlighted countries represented the rich backgrounds of Newington’s own Dolphin students and staff, making this event not just educational, but personal and powerful.
 

This incredible day of learning and discovery helped students celebrate global diversity while strengthening connections within their school community.
