School Spotlight: Eagle Nest Elementary

Eagle Nest Elementary School

September was a busy month at the Nest! To celebrate Grandparents Day, the school welcomed grandparents for “Grandparents on Duty.” They volunteered their time by opening car doors in the car rider line, greeting students as they got off the bus, and chatting with students during breakfast in the cafeteria. Later, Title I Facilitator Mrs. Hightower gathered students and their grandparents in the media center for a hands-on STEM activity and game.

Mrs. Hightower also co-hosted a “Power Hour” with Melanie Doty for first-grade parents, where families learned about the Eureka curriculum and strategies to support their students at home.

Other highlights from September included 4K and Kindergarten families participating in Meet the Teacher, students visiting the Book Fair with their classes, and the school’s family event—“Boardgames, Bingo, and Book Fair” Night—which wrapped up the month with fun, games, and after-hours shopping.

The Nest is looking forward to even more exciting events as the school year continues! đꦅ
