• Q:   I'm having technical difficulites. What should I do?

    The varied preferences in browser settings on so many different student devices make helping individuals with their specific issues impossible.  Attempt the steps shared in the FAQs and the "How-To Videos for Students" using various browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) until you find one where your browser preferences are compatible with the tools in Clever, the MS O365 Suite, etc.  It is not uncommon to have to use a different browser for one website or platform than you use for another.  Successful use is often dependent on the personal preferences you have set up in your browser.

    • If a district-purchased platform is malfunctioning (O365, Unified Classroom, Apex, etc.), please notify a teacher so that they can contact the district's IT deparment
    • If you are having trouble with a website or an app that is not part of DD2's purchased software, please contact the support group for that platform.
    • If your personal device is not working, please contact your manufacturer or the store from where you purchased it.  DD2's IT department can only address DD2 devices and DD2 supported platforms/apps.

     Q:   Are there resources for my child in addition to what is assigned by teachers?

    The SC Department of Education has resources on SCRemoteLearning.com  Parents and students will find materials to use as instructional resources. Additional content will continue to be added as they are developed and vetted.

    Q:   Where will assignments be posted?

    Teachers will use the same format to share digital information that they have used throughout the year.   You can get to assignments by clicking the Clever link on our home page.   

    Q:   How do I submit the assignments, specifically the ones from the packet?

    Q:   How do I log in to Clever?

    Parents do not have Clever credentials.  This program is meant to securely link all of our students' platforms under one school-assigned UN/PW.   Our students can all access Clever from home using the same exact credentials they use at school.  Simply click the Clever link on our home page to log in.  Do NOT Google Clever and try to log in that way.  You MUST start at our link on our home page.  (Please do not use Edge or Explorer to access Clever.  Use Chrome or Firefox browsers.)  Students have been using Clever since the first week of school, so they are familiar with how it works.  If more information is needed to help you log on at home, click here or download this PDF.

    Q:   Are there any tech tutorials for students?

    Yes. On the Clever dashboard, students can click "How-Tos for Students."

    Q:   Why am I not gettting email from my child's teachers?

    Many of our email attempts have come back as undeliverable. This could be due to filters on your email account or the address that is in PowerSchool is no longer accurate.  PLEASE UPDATE YOUR CONTACT INFO IN POWERSCHOOL.  Click here to see where that function is in PowerSchool.

    Q:   Why are teachers emailing parents instead of emailing students?

    Students do not have active email accounts at this time.  Please share all emailed information from your child's teachers with your child.

    Q:   How do parents log in to Unified Classroom?

    Parents can log in to PowerSchool to see grades, but they cannot log in to Unified Classroom.  This is a resource that is only for our students at this time. If a parent does not have a PowerSchool account, they can contact the school's systems operator.

    Q:   Will teachers be available to answer student questions?

    All teachers will be available Monday through Friday via email during regular school hours.

    Q:   Are we using TEAMS?

    Teams is part of your Microsoft Office 365 account and has some features that may be useful during distance learning.   Some teachers plan to use this platform.  We encourage EVERY student to access their Teams account even if they do not have a teacher who will be using it right now. (Click the underlined part of the previous sentence for a short video on how to get to Teams.)  Teams will be used across the district next year, so this is a good time to try it out.    (If the link in the previous sentence doesn't work, you can find instructions for how to access Teams by visiting the How To Videos for Students that are available on the Clever dashboard in the RMSA Supplements section.)  Please do not try to use Teams in the Edge or Explorer browsers.  Use Chrome or Firefox. The app seems to work better than the online version.  You can download the Teams app to most devices from this Microsoft page

    Q:   Can you turn on Chat, Calendar, and Phone Calls in Teams for my student?

    No. These settings are not for student use.  Students can use the Chat and Calendar function in Unified Classroom.  In Unified Classroom, chat will allow the student to reach the teacher, and the Calendar organizes assignments that are due.  In Teams, chat will work only in a live collaborative meeting with the teacher.

    Q:   What should I do if we don't have a printer at home?

    Whenever possible, please submit your work digitally.  In the "How To" section of Clever for students, there is a document that explains how to use an iPhone to scan multiple pages and email them to your teacher.  You can use any scanning app you prefer.

    Q:   When can I drop off packet work?

    As the school district sets dates for packet drop-off, you will receive a text, phone, or email notification.  Please be sure we have the correct contact information in PowerSchool so that you receive these notifications.

    Q:   Can my child still get access to food services?

    Curbside service is available daily from 11 AM - 1 PM at the following campuses:  ABES, FDHS, FES, OES, Spann and WRES.  Meals will be provided for any student up to the age of 18.

    Q:   My child doesn't have access to Wi-Fi at home. What should I do?

    Spectrum is offering 60 days of free Wi-Fi.  Call 1-844-488-8395 for information.
