Degrees and Certifications:
The 2019-2020 school year is my tenth teaching middle school! Teaching is my passion and I’m very grateful to do what I love every day. The best part is I get to learn something new every day with my students. I’ve loved reading and writing since I was four years old, so my excitement exudes out of my pores on a daily basis.
I graduated from Fort Dorchester High School. Following high school, I traveled the United States with a team of teens to complete several volunteer tasks. The organization is called AmeriCorps NCCC. Through that service, I developed a fondness for teaching. I attended Clayton State University for my Bachelor’s degree in Middle-Level Education with concentrations in Social Sciences and English. After about three years of teaching, I obtained a Master’s degree from Concordia University in Curriculum and Instruction.
I have a ten-year-old daughter, Isabella, that attends school at William Reeves Elementary. She shares my passion for reading and writing! Outside of school, we love to take road trips, to lounge on the beach, and to sing our hearts out in the car.
