Mrs. Angela Cantrell
My name is Angela Cantrell. I attended high school in Topeka, Kansas. I graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a minor in Secondary Education. I have a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Alaska-Anchorage. I am National Board Certified in Adolescent/Young Adult Science. I am currently working on my Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction for Middle School.
Here is a little bit about me!
*I am married to Michael.
*I have three grown children: Marissa, Douglas, and Kathryn. I also have two bonus children named Adam and Maddy.
*I am a pet lover and currently have 11 pets.
*I was a military brat who moved around a lot when I was little. I was in the Air National Guard for 8 years. I worked with the KC-135 refueler.
*I am beginning my 21st year of teaching. I taught Science at Summerville High School for 6.5 years, Science and Math at Mears Middle School in Anchorage, Alaska for 5 years, and Science and Math at Ashley Ridge High School for 6.5 years. This is my third year at Rollings.
*I love baseball and most sports. My favorite baseball teams are the The Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Royals. I am also an avid Kansas City Chiefs football fan! Patrick Mahomes is a FANTASTIC quarterback and is a lot of fun to watch.
*My favorite hobby is attending concerts. Live music ROCKS!
*I am an athlete who has run several marathons, half marathons and have even competed in a triathlon! I got injured in 2019 and have switched from running to biking. That is a lot of fun.
*Teaching is my passion. I like to have fun while learning and I am looking forward to teaching science and math at Rollings Middle School of the Arts! I am also excited to coach volleyball this year!
