Lindsey Webb, a native of the Upstate of South Carolina, is currently in her first year as Director of Choirs at Fort Dorchester High School. Before coming to the Fort, Ms. Webb directed the choral program at Berkeley High School.
A graduate of Lander University, Ms. Webb earned her Bachelors of Science degree in music education where she performed regularly with the University Singers, Old Main Singers, and the Chancel Choir at First Presbyterian Church. Ms. Webb is an active member of the South Carolina Music Educators Association where she serves on the All-State Chorus committee, the American Choral Directors Association serving on the executive board as secretary for South Carolina, and the National Association of Music Education.
Ms. Webb believes that music, especially choral music, has the ability to bring us all together, no matter our background. She loves the diversity and expression created when everyone comes together to perform as one. It is through this process that we discover our truest self.
In her spare time, Ms. Webb performs with the Singers of Summerville and sings in the Chancel Choir at Bethany United Methodist Church. She is also a member of the Women’s Ensemble and Chamber Ensemble. When not working or performing, Ms. Webb loves to read, knit, and spend time with her friends and family. She lives with her partner and their “fur” babies in Moncks Corner. An interesting fact about Ms. Webb is that she performed Ola Gjeilo’s Sunrise Mass at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
