School Counselors’ Corner- April 2019
April is an exciting time at the Beech. We hosted our first Change the World Celebration on April 4th and it was a big success. Students were able to show off some of the skills they have built through our lighthouse leagues throughout the year and parents were able to experience another aspect of what makes BHES unique. Our 4th and 5th grade students continue to build their soft skills and improve their interpersonal skills through the Microburst Learning EmployAbility Soft Skills program. This program highlights various interpersonal skills, communication, teamwork, dependability, along with many other skills. These lessons are being taught to 4th and 5th grade students across the district and the same program is being built upon in the middle and high schools of DD2. To learn more about the microburst program, feel free to visit their website at https://www.microburstlearning.com/ When we get back from Spring Break, the counseling department (and the rest of the school) will shift into testing mode, as we aim to show what we know on the SCPASS and SCReady tests in May.
