Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Erin McWhorter
I am privileged to be the Health and Wellness teacher at Joe Pye Elementary School. Previously, I taught at Oakbrook Elementary School. My love of physical education and fitness began in middle school. In high school, I participated in volleyball, basketball, and track. I was nominated for All Conference and All State teams in both volleyball and basketball. I was voted MVP for the North-South volleyball game. At that time I realized that I enjoyed being active and wanted to share my love of movement, especially with young children for whom I could be a positive influence. At Baptist College, I continued playing volleyball, earned the Outstanding Physical Education Major award, and received a Bachelor of Science degree. I then began my teaching career, and a few years later, earned a Masters Degree in Education from the Citadel. This year I am enjoying the challenge of helping my students as they explore, discover, and learn about healthy active lifestyles.
