Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of South Carolina

Mrs. Joy Esemann

Hi! My name is Mrs. Joy Esemann and I have been teaching since 2007. I graduated from The University of South Carolina with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Since graduation, I have taught everything from special needs Pre-K to Middle School. I have also been a mentor teacher for classroom management and positive behavior instruction. This is my third year in 1st grade and I am so excited!

With every year that I work as an educator, my passion for this field grows. Every day I consider myself lucky to spend time with these young minds; not only to help them grow and learn but facilitate that. I strive to set expectations for my students that I know are obtainable and differentiated according to each of their needs. . My passion is to see each student not only succeed, but succeed far greater than they ever imagined.

I am married to my wonderful husband Michael and have been since 2007. We have 2 precious red-heads, Ella who is in 4th grade and Evan who is 4. Michael is a Corpsman in the U.S. Navy and after being stationed at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, N.C. for 10 years, we were given the great opportunity to be stationed here in sunny Charleston, S.C! We are excited to be here and experience all this area has to offer.
