It is my pleasure to be part of the Dubose Middle School team!

I was born in Columbia, South Carolina but quickly moved out of state. My father was in the Navy, so I travelled and moved often as a child. I lived all over the United States and the world including Italy and Germany. In high school I attended North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston Salem for ballet. College kept me in North Carolina at Elon University where I gained a Bachelors of Science in Education with minors in Dance, English, and History.

Luckily, I began my teaching career oversees teaching in Ghana, Africa and then Okinawa, Japan. When I arrived back in the United States, I returned to North Carolina to teach and coach. After a while I decided it was time to get a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Gardner-Webb University. I continued teaching and coaching until I felt I needed to keep moving forward in my education for another master’s degree in Educational Mathematics from Concordia University online.

When I am not teaching mathematics, I spend time coaching. To relax I often can be found reading, doing yoga or meditating, or ballroom dancing my way across the floor.
