Mrs. Shelli Dampier

Hello, Wildcats! My name is Mrs. Dampier, and I am proud to be a part of the Dubose Middle School family this year. I was born and raised in Birmingham,

Alabama ~ ROLL TIDE! ~, but have lived in the Charleston area for more than twenty years. I studied classic literature in college, and graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in English from the College of Charleston. I spent 15+ successful years as a professional writer/editor and small business owner, and stay-at-home mom. I have long been a part of the school system, however, as the Room Mom, Tireless Volunteer, PTA Officer, and Substitute Teacher. I made the demonstrative decision to return to school to become a Certified Teacher, and completed the Alternate Certification Program ABCTE in 2014. I am scheduled to complete my M.Ed. in Curriculum Design and Instruction/Secondary Literacy in 12/2018.

I am happily married to my best friend Travis, raising 6 ~ yes, 6 ~ beautiful children together. Our kids are at 4 different DD2 schools and I am equally pleased with every one of them. We truly are blessed to call this district our home. Our kids range in age from 10 to 18, with 4 of those being teenaged boys! Needless to say, I live with Middle School Madness 24/7 and LOVE every minute of it! I love LOVE college football and am an avid baseball fan, as well. I love movies, chocolate, Starbucks, cheeseburgers, country music, and books, lots and lots of books.

I look forward to continuing to push my creative boundaries and innovative ideas in the classroom, and am excited for another outstanding year at DMS in 2018-2019

It is my professional goal this year to teach your child the value of READING FOR LEISURE and the art of WRITING FOR EXPRESSION. Welcome to my class! Go Wildcats!!
