About our program:

The Visual Art program goal is for all students to improve and grow as artists through a program that encourages, enlightens, and challenges. Through extended studio experiences with art forms during each year, students have the opportunity to become proficient with a variety of media. In core classes, two quarters will be devoted to an art form: Level 1 - Painting Level 2 - Sculpture Level 3 - Printmaking/Mixed Media 

This school year will be exciting in Visual Art. This summer, I served as an administrator for DD2's STARTS Program, taught a course, led a regional arts leadership conference with the National Art Education Association, met with many artists and art educators as I worked as a NAEA Regional VP, and spent time working on my own work. Through all these activities, I had my RMSA artists in mind. I am excited to share my love of art as we work together in my art studio. Our art studio will be a place for our artists to experiment, explore, and develop techniques and skills in a variety of media and materials. Beyond our class time, students are welcome (and encouraged) to take advantage of ILT.
