Welcome to THEATRE!

Where we are all about the stories of everyone!

Hailing from Wisconsin, I moved to Summerville, 13 years ago to take a Theatre Teaching Artist  position at Charleston County School of the Arts.  I taught 6-12th grade theatre with a focus on acting and writing.  Though I loved working with and creating relationships with those students, I was looking to focus on middle school and was lucky enough to find a fit here at GREGG MIDDLE SCHOOL!

Before making the GRAND trip south, I acted and directed in many theatres calling Milwaukee WI my base.  I received my Masters of Fine Arts in Acting.  While acting and directing, I was an adjunct lecturer at University of Wisconsin Madison (Go Badgers!!) and University of Wisconsin –Oshkosh.  I loved working with students and sharing my passion for the theatre.   Of course, I did not have enough to do so I also served as an actor and teaching artist with First Stage Theatre Company.  This is what changed my life’s direction.  Working with the diverse K-12 population in Urban Milwaukee truly showed the transformative power of theatre.    LIFE SKILLS THROUGH STAGE SKILLS  became my mantra and I never looked back.  Though my heart is in the k-12 classroom, I occasionally teach classes at College of Charleston.

I am so lucky that my family is supportive.   My 3 kids go to D2 schools and love the arts.   My boys and husband are big into Scouting and work with PACK 825 and Troupe 700.   My 5 year old girl is still finding out what she loves.   This week it is soccer and animals. Given we have two dogs that are important members of the family; Shatner and Boo, her love helps us out.   All keep us on our toes but we wouldn’t have it any other way!

When I am not teaching, I am trying to see shows, playing with my dogs, re-training to run a half marathon,  grabbing a cup of coffee, reading and checking out different movies.

Stage skills are infused in EVERYTHING we do.   I can’t wait to show you how.
