Degrees and Certifications:
The what, the how, the why about me:
What: I am the Business Education teacher here at GAP for 7th through 12th grade. I teach IT Fundamentals for grades 7th- 8th. This is a high school credit class that allows the students the opportunity to earn their technology high school credit that is needed to graduate. For grades 9th-12th I teach Financial Literacy.
How: I deliver the content through various methods to meet the Personalized Learning initiative that we have here at GAP. I use a blended learning style in my classroom and incorporate Project Based Learning into my class.
Why: I teach because your child matters and their education/ future success matter to me as well. Technology is embedded in our personal and professional world it is important for students to be able to understand and have knowledge about the technology world and how it impacts them. As for Financial Literacy, students are not prepared, nor do they have the knowledge, to make smart or responsible financial decisions when they leave high school and enter into the workforce or college. We are allowing students to enter into the real-world without the needed financial competences to ensure their well-being and success. This class gives students the foundation to help students make more responsible financial decisions now and as they move forward.
