Mrs. Michelle Yenyo

Welcome to Read 180! My name is Michelle Yenyo and I am so excited to be at Alston Middle School and to have the opportunity to teach such a data driven and successful reading program!

I was born and raised in Northern Virginia, growing up right outside of Washington, D.C. I earned a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Marymount University in Arlington, VA and a Masters of Education from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA.

My first eight years of teachers were served in Virginia at two Title 1 schools. At the first school my focus was on students who were part of an English as a Second Language Academy. At my second school my focus was on students from all nationalities, who were severely below grade level in Reading and Writing.

I moved to South Carolina five years ago and began teaching for Berkeley County while living in Dorchester District 2. I decided to make the change to DD2 this three because I wanted to be a part of the amazing district that I live in and where my children attend school.

I look forward to working with all students at Alston Middle School this year, and many years to come!
