Reflections Contest!

  • Do you enjoy art, music and dance or have an interest in writing, producing films and taking photos? Then join us and have fun unleashing your inner artist with PTA Reflections! This year’s theme, “I Matter Because…,” calls for your own unique interpretation through the arts. Deadline for digital submission is Friday, December 4, 2020.

Submission guidelines can be found in the entry form in the link below. However, we are moving 100% digital this year to ensure the safety of our students and volunteers and will not be using paper forms and not accepting physical entries. Therefore, students will need to click on the link below and then click on Student Packet (Rules & Entry Form) where an editable form will open. Ms. Genie Osborn

I grew up in Florida and graduated from Florida State University with a BA in English and a Minor in Linguistics.  I have an M. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with a Specialization in Arts Integration, and I am a National Board Certified Teacher. I teach Creative Writing for Dorchester District 2's GATEWAY summer arts program, and I serve as an instructor for South Carolina’s Program of Alternative Certification for Educators (PACE).

This is my 18th year at Alston Middle School, and I am proud to be an Alston Tiger!  I love to explore the English language and find new and creative ways to express, explain, argue, and reflect.  My favorite word is “groovy.”
