Health and Wellness
The mission of the Alston Middle School Health and Wellness Team is to aid in the total development of the students, staff and community. This is accomplished by creating an environment that enhances physical, emotional, and social well-being through various lifelong opportunities. The full experience includes participation in team sports, individual activities and a wide variety of movement skills. Application of physical activity should be a lifelong habit aiding in the development of social skills and promoting self-confidence.
Awards & Achievements
Alliance for a Healthier Generation
Alston has been recognized by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation as a 2018 national silver recipient.
The American Heart Association has given Alston a Gold Achievement award for being a Fit-Friendly Worksite.
Boeing/MUSC's Health and Wellness Intiative
Alston received first place for Dorchester School District Two in the 2013-2014 & 2017-2018 school year. We have also been a finalist every year.
Subway Fit for Life Grant recepient
Alston received this award for the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school year.
