New Hire Professional Development Onboarding
We are pleased that you have chosen Dorchester School District Two to be your place of employment!
New Employee Onboarding is a three-week period over the summer designed to integrate New Hires into Dorchester School District Two. It includes a personalized series of professional learning opportunities that allows new employees to complete the REQUIRED trainings needed PRIOR to the FIRST DAY OF WORK. New Hires also learn about the school district and its structure, culture, vision, mission, core values, beliefs, and protocols.

Professional Learning (PL) - Stipends:
- $150 per day (GROSS) through Title II (Professional Development Funds)
- Provided to those who complete New Hire Professional Onboarding sessions during the designated time period.
A stipend of $150 per day (GROSS) through Title II (Professional Development Funds) will be given to trainings completed prior to July 28. New Hires who do not complete onboarding trainings during the designated period (stipend included) will be required to complete them once under contract. This may require afternoon sessions beyond the regular school day. Stipends will not be provided for the required trainings during the educator’s contract period.
There may be additional Required training necessary for employment and/or positions; however, all of them are not required to be completed prior to the first day of work. These include trainings such as Vector Solutions, Active Shooter training, Erin’s Law, Signs Matter, Bloodborne Pathogens, etc. Opportunities may be provided prior to the start of the school year for all staff to complete other required trainings as well as on District Staff Development the first week 190-day employees report to work for the 2025-2026 school year.

You will also have access to a Session Planner specific to your teaching assignment. In addition, a required Playlist of courses is available in PL to guide your session registration.
