Steps to Becoming a Sub:

Visit the AppliTrack website.
To start, choose External Applicants: and “Start an application for employment”.
A Clearance Interview will be scheduled with our DDTwo Personnel Department once you have three completed references in your Applitrack application.
Our substitute workshop at 815 South Main Street, Summerville, is required for all candidates who do not hold a teaching credential.

Prerequisites: Must possess a minimum of a GED or High School Diploma. Proof of education must be uploaded in Applitrack, prior to attending the training.

Age Requirements: 21 with HSD/GED. (Full-time college students 18-20 are also eligible with current enrollment in 12 or more college credit hours) they must attend the substitute workshop and complete all other employment paperwork as well as provide proof of full-time student status. College students are permitted only to sub in the elementary schools.

Background Check: Pass the required SLED background check.

Substitute Daily Rates:

Non-Certified Daily Rate - $125
- Half-Day Assignments - $62.50
Certified Daily Rate (with Teaching Credential) - $150
- Half-Day Assignments - $75
Substitute Nurse Daily Rate - $150
- Half-Day Assignments - $75
