Business Partners
The Career and Technical Education department in Dorchester District Two is always looking and open to comprehensive partnerships with businesses in our area that can provide our students with opportunities to learn inside and outside of the traditional classroom setting.
Partnership with CTE in DD2 is two-fold:
- We encourage our students to participate in a variety of hands-on opportunities that will enhance the Career and Technical Education curriculum they are receiving from their classroom teachers. While working with you and your business as a potential Co-Op student, participating in an internship, participating in an apprenticeship, job shadowing experiences, or any appropriate approved work-based learning opportunity, students will gain experience that will shape their career choices, provide high school classroom credit, and possibly an hourly wage.
- While working with our students, your business will have a unique opportunity to work with DD2 students who have shown interest in a particular career field related to your business while hopefully building a pipeline for later recruitments. In a time when human capital is limited, these experiences are great opportunities to work with students who will have industry recognized certifications, several related courses, and hands-on experience in your field.
