DD2 Implements New Discipline Matrix Tools

Implementation of New Discipline Matrix Tools for the 2025–2026 School Year
Dorchester School District Two

Beginning with the 2025–2026 academic year, Dorchester School District Two will implement updated discipline matrix tools across all schools. These matrices are designed to promote fairness, consistency, and transparency in how student behavior is addressed districtwide.

The discipline matrix serves as a clear guide for school administrators when determining appropriate responses to behavioral infractions. It ensures that students receive consistent consequences while still allowing school staff to work in partnership with families to support positive student outcomes.

Students and families will be able to access the discipline matrices as reference tools throughout the school year. The matrices can be found under the Handbook section of the district website.

It is important to note that the matrix is intended to be a guiding framework rather than a rigid rulebook. In certain situations, a school administrator may determine that the nature or severity of a behavior calls for a different approach. In these instances, the principal will consult with a district-level administrator before making any adjustments to the standard consequences.

As with any new system, we will continuously monitor the implementation of the discipline matrices and make revisions as needed in the best interest of our students. Our goal is to ensure all decisions support safe, respectful, and supportive learning environments for every student in our district.
