Dr. Beth Fiorito Named Assistant Director of Middle Schools
The Board of Trustees met on May 12, 2025, and approved Dr. Beth Fiorito as the Assistant Director of Middle Schools beginning July 2025.
Dr. Beth Fiorito, currently serving as principal at Alston Middle School, has 25 years of experience in education. Her previous administrative roles have included assistant principal at Alston Middle School (2017-2023) and middle school summer remediation principal (2022). Before becoming an administrator, Dr. Fiorito taught at DuBose Middle School (2012-2017), in Sumter, SC (2007-2012 and 2000-2005), and in Myrtle Beach, SC (2005-2007).
Dr. Fiorito earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of South Carolina (2000), her Master of Education from Cambridge College (2006), her National Board Certification - EMC/Literacy-Reading (2008), her Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Liberty University (2015), her South Carolina Certificate for Administration from Charleston Southern University (2016), her National Board Recertification - EMC/Literacy-Reading (2018), and her Doctor of Education – Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University (2022).
Dr. Fiorito said, “I am honored to serve as our district’s Assistant Director of Middle Schools and look forward to supporting our teachers, leaders, and students across the district. Middle school is a pivotal time in a child’s educational journey, and I am committed to fostering academic excellence, strong instructional practices, and a culture where every student can thrive.”
Outside of work, Dr. Fiorito loves spending time with her family and making the most of sunny days—She likes to say she’s solar-powered! Whether relaxing at the beach, exploring local boutiques, or trying out new restaurants, she enjoys being out and about in the community and soaking up all it has to offer.

Her deep understanding of the DD2 culture and climate will help ensure a smooth and impactful transition.
