DD2 Celebrates Ribbon Cutting for McKissick Museum
We were honored to celebrate the ribbon cutting for the McKissick Museum! Beyond being our nation’s winningest head football coach, the late Summerville High School Coach John McKissick truly defines what it means to be a champion, on and off the field.
The Museum/community meeting space was made possible by the generosity of the McKissick family to share memorabilia, Tony Pope State Farm Agent, South Magnolia Event Group, Summerville High Athletic Club, community donations, and Rep. Chris Murphy, who helped secure state support.
You can be part of Coach McKissick’s legacy and make a difference for our students! The path leading to the museum will be adorned with custom-engraved bricks, which will be engraved by SHS students in Career & Technical Education (CTE) classes at the SHS Manufacturing Center. Proceeds will be shared between SHS Football and Dorchester Two Educational Foundation.
