Rollings Middle School of the Arts
Where learning is an art!
About our School
Past and Present
Rollings Middle School of the Arts opened in 1997 in historic Summerville. Our first home began serving the community in 1924 as the original Summerville High School. Summerville High School’s stadium is still located on this site. Our charming, historical structure will become the location of the district office now that RMSA has relocated to our beautiful new home in Summers Corner.
Rollings provides outstanding arts education in various disciplines. Our current core offerings are band, dance, piano, strings, theater, visual arts, and vocal music, although past offerings also included core study of handbells and creative writing. Fifth and sixth-grade students audition in the fall. Please contact our district’s Gifted and Fine Arts Department for more information about the audition process.
The mission of R.H. Rollings Middle School of the Arts is to provide its students, leaders in their global community, with an integrated curriculum that develops maximum academic potential through creative expression and exploration of the arts.
We strive to teach rigorous, relevant lessons and form strong, positive relationships.
