  • Rifle Team
    Rifle Team is made up of cadets who already shoot well and those who would like to shoot well. The rifle team represents Summerville High School in rifle competitions that are conducted locally, statewide, and nationally.

    Practice: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 4:00 - 5:30

    Orienteering Team 
    Orienteering is a sport that involves land navigation over unfamiliar terrain with a map and compass. The object is to run, walk, ski, or mountain bike to a series of points shown on the map, called control points, choosing routes, both on and off established trails, that will allow the orienteerer to find all the points and get back to the finish in the shortest amount of elapsed time. It is an outdoorsman's equivalent of a sports car enthusiast's road rally. The length of a course can run from a mile or less for novice-level events, to four or more miles for international competitions.

    Drill Team
    Drill team is made up of cadets who are particularly interested in sharpness and precision developed by close order drill and manual of Arms. The team represents Summerville High School in various Parades, Ceremonies and Competitions through-out the state with other NJROTC units.

    Practice: Monday and Wednesday 4:00 - 5:30pm

    Academic Team
    Academic team represents Summerville High school and our JROTC unit at many academic meets and other meets where cadets must test their knowledge of JROTC regulations and general things.

    Practice: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 8:00 - 8:45am 

    Mentoring Team (Paused UFN due to COVID 19)
    Mentoring team repesents Summerville High School represents Summerville High school and our JROTC unit at elementary schools where they tutor kids and help them with school.

    Cyber Patriot
    CyberPatriot is a cyber defense competition that is designed to give hands on exposure to the foundations of cyber security. CyberPatriot is not a hacking competition. CyberPatriot's goal is to excite students about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. SC Cyber Patriot State Champions in 2013. Finished 2nd in the State at the the Plametto Cyber Defense Competition for the second consecutive year.
