AP Research is the second required class for a Capstone Diploma. Students are required to write a 5,000 word essay and present it to a panel of professionals for 20 minutes. This is their final exam and the main objective in this course.
This class is unique because of the structure and their level of expectations. Students are required to develop their own research questions, conduct the research, write about their findings, and finally present this to a panel. Any expenses related to the research process are the student’s responsibility – Fort Dorchester is not responsible for any supplies.
Students are NOT ALLOWED to receive grades for their papers or anything that pertains to their papers. They can receive a completion grade, but not a letter grade that would allude to the student how well or how poorly their paper is written.
