Mrs. Jacquelyn Kunkelman

My name is Jacquelyn Kunkelman, and I a teach 8th grade ELA, 8th grade Advanced/GT Literature and Composition, and English I Honors. Born and raised in Reading, Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia, I moved to Charleston, South Carolina in 2012 to begin my teaching career.

In 2010, I graduated from Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania with a Dual Bachelor of Arts degree in English  Literature and Philosophy.  After graduation, I quickly realized that I wanted to share my knowledge and passion for literature and writing with younger students, so enrolled in at teacher certification post-baccalaureate program at Kutztown University in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, graduating in 2012.

It is my philosophy that teachers serve students best as a guide on an intellectual journey, opening and broadening curious minds by exposing them to new thoughts and ideas. Our students’ love for writing and the fine arts is what gave me encouragement to start up Wide-Open Spaces, Gregg’s literary and fine arts magazine that is published annually with exceptional student work.

I look forward to continuing on this incredible journey as an educator at Gregg Middle School.
