All About Mrs. Thornton

 

I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA degree in Early Childhood Education.  I got married shortly after graduation and my husband, Clay, was in the Coast Guard.  We moved several times over the next four years.  We finally settled in Summerville and have been here for the last eighteen years.  I have a daughter, Elizabeth, who is 21 and a son, Clayton, who is 17 and a junior at Summerville High School.  Clayton runs Cross Country and Track for SES and is thinking about attending the Citadel.  Elizabeth gave us our first grandchild, Nicholas, in September.  I have been at SES for 10 years and have been a kindergarten assistant, have taught third grade, and have been a kindergarten teacher for the last 5 years.  I love children and feel fortunate to be able to go to work and do what I love everyday!

 

 

All About Mrs. West

 

I graduated from Appalachian State University with a Finance Degree.  I am married to Ross and we have four children.  Rayce is a senior this year.  He hopes to attend Clemson in the fall.  My twin daughters, Caroline and Catharine are sophomores at SHS and Colleen is a seventh grader at Rollings Middle School of the Arts. I have worked at Summerville Elementary for the past seven years.  I was the Family Literacy Coordinator for the first four.  I have been a kindergarten teaching assistant for the last three.  I love coming to work each day to see what new things young children learn!
