One of the components of our S.E.S. reading program is A.R.  A.R.is short for Accelerated Reader.  On this program, students read a book and take a computerized quiz to test their reading comprehension.  Points are awarded according to how well the student does on the quiz.  Points accumulate with the more tests taken and are worth prizes.  At the end of the year, students who qualify by earning  the specified points, attend Camp Sires.  Camp Sires is a day of fun activities at Dr. Sires’ farm. 

Students may take A.R. tests in their classroom, in the Media Center or in the computer lab.  A.R. test lists are available on the S.E.S. Website, in the Media Center and at the Dorchester County Public Library.  So, check out an A.R. book and earn those points!!!
