Welcome Back

 

             Welcome to sixth grade Reading at DuBose Middle School.  I am very excited about the upcoming year!  We have many wonderful learning experiences planned.

           Reading is not just a part of our school curriculum, but it is an essential life skill.  It is important for students to read well and to read often.  Therefore, we will spend time this year reading a variety of text.  From novels to newspapers; mysteries to magazines and tall tales to emails.   Students will also be given opportunities to respond to what they read in a variety of ways.  Literature circles, book reports, script writing, and class presentations are just a few of the ways that students’ reading skills will be enhanced this school year.

           Education is a partnership between home and school.  Students will be challenged to do their best and to take pride in their accomplishments.  Let’s make this a great year!
