Reading Counts is the guided reading program used by many of the classes at The Fort to promote and encourage reading. It is based on LEXILES—the level at which a student reads and comprends what he/she reads. The number of points needed each quarter is set by the individual teachers.
Students may check books out of the media center or obtain copies elsewhere to read as long as they verify a test is available for the books read.
If at school, check the school card catalog.
If at home, log into the web site linked below or click on the grahic and browse the e-catalog for the title. If the book is listed in the Scholastic e-catalog, we should have a test available even if the school does not own a copy and it is not listed in our card catalog.
We have all of the Reading Counts tests available in our database so finding a book to read and test on should not be a problem.
