Eagle Nest Elementary

   Hey there; my name is Pamela Mack.  I am extremely excited about being the 4th and 5th Grade Reading Interventionist at Eagle Nest Elementary School this year.  This is actually a dream come true!  Anyone who knows me, knows that I LOVE to READ, READ, READ!!!!!  Not only do I enjoy reading, but I LOVE seeing my students immersed in and navigating through meaningful text.               In our class, we like to say,   “readers become               better readers by reading”.   Well... there is certainly more to becoming a strategic  reader than just by picking up a book.  One must learn, understand, practice, and apply the strategies that makes one a good reader. 

    In my class this year, students will learn a multiplicity of

skills and strategies that will empower and equip them as they grow and develop as a reader.  Among these strategies will be learning how to select reading materials on one’s level, engaging in BEFORE, DURING, and AFTER reading strategies, make connections with the characters and/or events in the text, ask questions, etc. 

   So, buckle                your seat belts parents and students,
