It is our pleasure to begin serving your child in the Summerville Elementary School Physical Education Program.  Our intention is to help instill in your child a positive attitude for life-long fitness.  During Physical Education, a variety of activities will be offered to help with your child’s growth and development.  We sincerely hope that he/she will be motivated to develop physical skills, social skills, and a life-long love of movement.

Kindergarten through fifth grade will receive physical education on a rotating three week block schedule. Your child will have a five day block schedule either of Physical Education, Art or Music, and then he/she will rotate to the next fine art.  So remember, that after your child has five days of music; he/she will rotate back to physical education for a five day block.  Please see our class and rotation schedules to know when your child has physical education.  Since there is no time or facilities for changing clothes, your child should wear clothing appropriate for mixed classes on his/her physical education days.  All children should wear tennis shoes or other suitable shoes on PE days.  Class will be held both inside and outside depending on the weather.

To assist in the safety of your child please inform us in writing of any health concerns you may have or general remarks that might assist us with a positive experience for your child in Physical Education.  If at any time you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call or write a note.  Thank you for your support!
