Counselors at DMS provide a variety of services to help the school run smoother:

· As part of the Guidance Curriculum, we conduct classroom guidance lessons, small group guidance, and parent education.

· We help students with individual/career planning through career assessments, advisement, and placement.

· Counselors provide responsive services through individual counseling; small group counseling; crisis counseling; and consultation with parents, teachers, and outside agencies.

· We provide support to the school as advisers; through program planning and evaluation; and in school and community relations.

· The Guidance Department maintains an information center and provides access to materials for teachers, students, and parents.

· Finally, Guidance Counselors are involved in test administration and other administrative duties.
