Are home visits required? |
Yes, home visits are and integral part of the 4K program. The teacher, assistant, and the Family Literacy teacher will visit your child before the start of school and at the end of school. During the school year, the Family Literacy teacher will make several Extend and Enrich visits to reinforce the skills your child is learning in 4K. |

The district provides bus transportation within the school’s attendance area or you may bring your child or your child’s daycare may transport. Parents who choose to use a daycare will need to verify that their specific daycare transports to the school. |
Parents will receive letters in July notifying them of their child’s acceptance or if their child has been placed on the waiting list. As children move during the year, we fill slots from our ranked waiting lists. The waiting list is a ranked list of all the students who were screened for the program. If a parent does not accept, the next child on the waiting list is called. |

Frequently Asked Questions |
All children who register are screened using the DIAL 3. The DIAL 3 is a developmental assessment that measures your child’s motor, cognitive and language skills. This score along with data supplied by the parent is used to determine eligibility points. Those children whose scores indicate the most need will be offered the opportunity to enroll. We screen in May for children who registered in the Spring and in August for children who registered over the summer. |
