I will be your son/daughter’s sixth grade science teacher this year at DuBose Middle School. Because I came from the scientific profession into teaching, my belief is that daily life is surrounded by science. I want to open students’ eyes to the ever-expanding and encompassing scientific world. Science is how we explain everyday occurrences that surround our life and how we got to where we are today.
My goal is to make the science education in my classroom meet the individual learning needs of the students through an assortment of lessons and activities designed to encourage enjoyment of the scientific process while developing an understanding of important concepts and skills. The activities will be directly aligned with the 6th grade South Carolina Science Standards, relevant to the middle school student and will involve active participation from the students.
