With the National, State and local PTA mission and purpose in mind, the FDHS PTSA exists to provide scholarships to graduating seniors.  We strive to award at least five (5) $1000.00 scholarships each year.  We also award teacher mini grants which allow them to purchase classroom books, reading books, encyclopedia sets, arts and craft material, science fair material, classroom equipment, etc.  The PTSA also gives school gifts such as computers, furniture, custom floor mats, equipment for use by various departments, and other items that the school may need.

The past years, we matched dollar for dollar the fund raising efforts of the Tree Huggers Club to make it possible for them to replant trees, shrubs and flowers in the courtyard making it a much cooler, nicer place to gather.  Any of the clubs can come to the PTSA for assistance.  Their success is of great importance to us.  We make every effort to help any and all that come to us with requests.

One way we make this possible is through the money raised in our Spirit Store.  The Spirit Store carries an array of spirit wear including but not limited to T-Shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies (very popular with the students), wind breakers, ball caps, blankets, spirit beads, and much more.  Please visit the Spirit Store during the lunch periods each school day or at the various sporting events.

The PTSA is trying to be more visible and accessible to students, faculty and parents.

How are we doing all this you ask?  It is only possible with volunteers.  Volunteers are the most important key to making the PTSA successful.  We need everyone’s help.  If you can volunteer 1 hour, 1 day, or even make and bigger commitment and volunteer for a board position or committee position, please contact us.  We welcome students, teachers, administrators, moms, dads (yes, DADS) grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends….anyone willing to give a little of their time to make Ft Dorchester High School a better place.

Parents, Teachers, and Students…..We are all in this together for the benefit of the school, faculty, and the students.

Like the 3 Musketeers…….All for one and One for all!
