Graduation Requirements

Exit Examination

Students who are in their second year of high school, and those who have not passed both sections are required to take an exit examination. Passage of the exit examination is a condition for the receipt of a state high school diploma. This requirement also applies to students in an adult education program who are seeking a diploma. Students who do not pass the exit examination must receive academic assistance in the areas not passed.

Students participating in the graduation ceremony must have met all requirements to receive a state high school diploma including passage of all parts of the Exit Exam or have met all requirements as stated in the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) to receive a certificate.
