Meet the Media Center Staff

             As an educator, I have 26 years of experience-6 years as a middle school and high school English/Reading teacher and 21 years as a middle school/elementary school library media specialist.  I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in English education  from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and a Master’s Degree in Library Science from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. Last year, the Flowetown PTA selected me as their 2007-2008 “Teacher of the Year”.

             My husband Adam and I have been married for 39 years.  We have two children, Adam, Jr., a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and Tara Michelle, who holds degrees from  Princeton University (New Jersey) and Columbia University (New York).   We are also the proud grandparents of one grandson, Noah Michael Spencer who has six teeth and has just learned to walk.

             My favorite pastimes include reading, spending time with family, traveling and writing. I am presently writing a children’s book and co-authoring an inspirational book with my husband.  I also enjoy watching the television show, Jeopardy.

             I absolutely love my job as the library media specialist at Flowertown!  I am passionate about books, reading and learning, and I eagerly anticipate another school year of connecting your children with books.
