Meet Mrs. Blackmon |
|
I enjoy teaching at Oakbrook so much that I’ve been doing it for nineteen years! I graduated from the University of South Carolina where my son, Ryan is now a sophomore. Both of my children attended Oakbrook Elementary School. Ali, my daughter, is now in the seventh grade at Rollings Middle School of the Arts. My husband, Luke, is manager at Community First Bank. We have a naughty cocker spaniel named Kasey. My favorite things to do are read and go to the beach. If you put those together, it’s a perfect afternoon!
I am excited about the opportunity to work with you this year. Here are some general goals that Mrs. Riley and I intend to achieve this school year.
· To incorporate new technology into lessons · To continue to implement our district wide Literacy Model that includes differentiated reading instruction, word study, teacher- directed reading, fluency, and writing · To establish and maintain a positive feeling tone in the classroom by promoting the five Lifelong Guidelines and Lifeskills based on the most successful brain research. The new PAWS program will promote these skills! · To gain an appreciation and love of South Carolina through the study of South Carolina History
