Welcome to Writing!

Our fourth graders in Read 180 are refining their writing skills. By the end of the year they will be able to write five paragraph essays that include; higher level vocabulary, correct spelling and punctuation, organization and imagination. We practice this writing almost everyday!

Some ways to help your child to develop their writing style :

Write in front of them often

Point examples of good writing from literature

Encourage them to write thank-you notes or lists

Encourage them to speak in complete sentences

This is a very exciting time for your children and you will be amazed at the end of the year to see how their writing has grown!
